The first week of finals has left us with 5 wins and 2 losses. The U17 footballers were defeated by a strong Carngham Linton team and now have been eliminated from the finals. The Seniors won a tight match against Bungaree and get this weekend off. The reserves also came away with a win and have a break this weekend. The A Grade netballers made a big comeback to win and the B grade were also successful. The C grade girls went down to Bungaree and will be playing on Sunday. The U17 girls won and will also be playing on Sunday.
It was a very successful night for the club at the CHFNL Presentation night, with Nick Sullivan winning the seniors best and fairest and teammate Dean Kelly coming runner up. An awesome effort, with Sullivan returning this season from a knee reconstruction and Kelly a new addition to the club. These boys along with Jason Allen were selected in the team of the year. In the reserves Cameron Landry won the Goal Kicking award, hopefully he is on target over the next few weeks!
The netballers also did really well, with Hana Cleary nominated for the team of the year. Kelly Amoore did well finishing up 8th in the A Grade Best and Fairest. Emma Brown should be congratulated on coming 4th in the C grade Best and Fairest.
A big thank you goes to everyone who volunteered for the club last weekend. We had so many jobs with 7 teams in the finals, catering, and having a home ground final. Many hands made the work a little lighter!
