Waubra Waffle, week ending 25th August

Finals time again! Good luck to all the teams who are representing the club in finals today, with hard work we hope to be around for a few more weeks. Thanks to all our volunteers, supporters, players and sponsors who have enabled us to have such a great season.

Our junior football and netball teams have had a great year developing their skills. Bryce Dowler has done a fantastic job with a very young Under 14.5 side. We knew it was going to be difficult to field a team after many years without one in this grade however we have been amazed at how well the boys have developed this year as the season has gone on. We now have a great base to build on in the future and look forward to next year. Through the guidance of Tige Severino and Robbie Gordon the U12 boys participated in the Lightning Premiership and should be congratulated on their achievements, winning the ‘Spirit of Participation Award’, which was voted on by opposition coaches. Well done boys, you have made the club very proud!

The U13 girls highlight of the seasons came two weeks ago with their first win, by sticking together they are sure to get a few more next year, thanks to their coach Jackie Cocksedge. The U15 girls narrowly missed the finals, well done to Steve Crook for his efforts over the season.

A reminder that the junior presentation night is on Friday 30th August at the Waubra Community Hub, starting at 6:15. Hot food will be provided and drinks can be purchased from the bar. Families to bring a plate to share. There will be a disco after the presentations.

The Senior Presentation Night (including U17 Netball and Football) is on September 20th, 7pm at the Waubra Community Hub. Entry is $25 and includes a two course meal and a bus leaving from the Western at 6:30pm.

GO ROOS!!
