Waubra Waffle, week ending 21st July

This week we travel to Bungaree for a great day of football and netball in all grades with today’s game also being the official opening of the Bungaree Community Centre. The Waubra Football Netball Club would like to congratulate Bungaree on the opening of your new facility, it is without doubt a fantastic facility and a great achievement.

Over the years we have built up a great rivalry with Bungaree with today’s games to be no exception. The Bungaree and Waubra senior football and senior netball teams are all looking like playing finals which should see a great spectacle today.

Last week we saw our senior footballer’s return to the winners list with a hard fought victory over Skipton who really tested our guys. Our reserves and under 18’s also had strong wins, while our under 15’s and under 12’s battled hard all day.

In the netball the A grade girls had a tough match against a much improved side, but eventually came up with the win. The B and C girls had strong wins. While the junior sides were all competitive, but Skipton came up winners on the day.

Last weekend we had our Annual Ball which was a fantastic night with a great turnout! It was great to see so many people burning up the dance floor to some great songs, and I’m sure that there would have been a few sore heads the next day. Thanks to everyone that helped out with the event which was a great success.
