Soil health assessment workshop

Expressions of interest are being accepted now by North Central CMA for its soil health workshop in Waubra on Wednesday 6th August.


The one day workshop will cover:

  • Simple soil and plant condition assessment tools,
  • Soil fertility and smart farming,
  • Increasing soil health and farm profit, and
  • Measures to maximise plant water use efficiency.


The program, presented by New Zealand Soil Scientist Graham Shepherd, involves morning presentations and afternoon in paddock practical activities, focussed on pasture. Graham developed the Visual Soil Assessment tool which is now New Zealand’s National Standard for assessing and monitoring soil quality.
