A little bit of history about the disco:

The Evansford Under 15 Disco is brought to you by the Evansford Community Centre Committee of Management. The Disco is on once every term, usually on the 2nd Friday after the school holidays.

Many children around the district, from Waubra through to Talbot and everywhere in between come to Evansford once a term for an evening of music, dance & disco lights. We encourage all under 15‘s and their parents to come along and make a fun filled family night of it.

The disco started 15 years ago when Evansford resident Mary-Ann’s young children showed an interest in attending a youth disco, through this she identified a need to provide a point of entertainment for local kids. It was then that the Evansford Under 15 Disco came to life. While her children have grown up and moved on, Mary-Ann & the ECC continue to work hard coordinating four discos a year, offering kids a welcoming and safe environment in which to socialise and have fun.

Over the years the Evansford Disco has seen attendance numbers rise and fall as children have grown up and moved on, and as the next generation start to come along each term. One such disco goer, who really enjoyed attending as a youngster, has now grown up, although he has done anything but move on. In fact Darcy now attends every disco as the DJ, under the name of DJ DM4N.

Darcy started going to the disco when he was 10 years old and attending Waubra Primary School. “I love music and was always amazed by DJ’s with vinyls and mixing” said Darcy.

He began his DJ career at the Evansford Disco “I started off with a CD player and two lights” said Darcy. Now he has equipped himself with all the latest gear including decks, a pro DJ mixer, speakers and of course lights. DJ DM4N even has a smoke machine to really set the scene for a great evening of music, dancing & entertainment.

Since starting out at the Evansford Disco Darcy has been DJing for the last four years at public functions including youth FReeZA events, as well as private functions such as birthday parties and in clubs.

Darcy plays lots of new music that the kids love dancing to and some older tunes such as The Nutbush, which often has the Mums and Dads hitting the dancefloor to share a boogie with the kids!

We would love to see a great turnout at our term 2 disco, on Friday May 16th, from all around the district, so come along and enjoy the music together, bring Mum and Dad and have a dance!

The Evansford Under 15 Disco is proudly supported by the Pyrenees Shire.
